Kojima on MGS4

"I think it's up to each project, and the individual producer. If they want to take it multiplatform, they will. But like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theatre, it's aimed for the PS3, so the game's scenario and graphics need this theatre-type hardware. It's when a producer has a game that can work on the 'DVD level' that a game will go multiplatform"

Not quite sure about the theatre aspect of the quote but its obviously related to the PS3 having BluRay built in.

"The PS3 is like the theater, it's a little bit high-priced but it has to be high quality as well. The 360 is a DVD, it still needs to be high quality but you need more variations, while the Wii is almost like a TV channel, because every game you have it with your family".

Why the persistant rumors of it coming to the 360? "Because 360 owners want it on 360, obviously"

Rumour is it might even be > 50 gigs, 2 bloody BluRay discs!

I think sticking with a 9 Gig DVD limit is going to hurt 360 in the long term, all these Next Gen titles with high quality texture streaming like Gears of War, The Getaway, Resistance e.t.c need absolutely huge amounts of storage.

Overindulgent uncompressed CGI FTW!!!

I don't see DVD9 hurting the 360 as the 360 can handle texture compression really well.
I read somewhere that as the PS3 does not have more than one general purpose core that it will have trouble with texture compression? Plus the 256MB Ram on the gfx card limits textures...
I think it's bloatware FMV like Lee said, plus didnt GoW only use half a DVD9?

From what ive read, it was CGI to begin with but it has all been removed and converted to using the realtime game engine.

For it still to be 50 gig is nuts, music, textures.. not sure what else! Can't wait to find out tho =)
